The origins of CASM
CASM was founded in 1983 as an initiative of the Honduran Mennonite Church to support those affected by armed conflict in Central America.
The CASM office in Copan Ruinas was founded in 1997. Our team works in over 20 communities in the municipalities of Copan Ruinas, Santa Rita and Cabanas. Our work benefits children, youth and women, rural families and leaders in ways that strengthen citizenship processes, reduce socio-environmental vulnerability, and improve economic and social conditions of the population with a human rights approach.
We believe that the people we work with in our communities have the skills and knowledge to solve the problems of their communities. Our goal is help strengthen their resources and build their skills to be able to achieve this.
